American Quarter Horse Association championship shows are among the most prestigious events in the equine industry. In an effort to provide new opportunities, encourage growth and better serve AQHA members, the Association is proud to implement new opportunities for the 2022 championship show season.

Nutrena Level 1 Champion of Champions Classes

New for 2022, exhibitors competing in core classes at either the 2022 Nutrena AQHA East, Nutrena AQHA West Level 1 Championships or AQHA Cattle Level 1 Championships, presented by the Four Sixes Ranch, will have the opportunity to earn a spot to vie for overall Nutrena Level 1 Champion of Champions titles. The top-15 exhibitors in each youth, amateur and Select amateur core class will be invited to compete at their corresponding AQHA world show for Nutrena Level 1 Champion of Champions titles, which includes the Ford AQHYA World Championship Show; Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; and AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan).

The core classes are defined as:

  • Western pleasure
  • Horsemanship
  • Hunter under saddle
  • Hunt seat equitation
  • Showmanship
  • Trail
  • Ranch riding

Adequan® Level 2 13-&-Under Core Classes

Beginning at the 2022 Ford AQHYA World, Adequan® Level 2 core classes will now offer two age divisions for 13-&-Under and 14-18 exhibitors to participate in with their American Quarter Horses, instead of just 18-&-Under.

The addition of Adequan® Level 2 13-&-Under core classes allows younger AQHYA members the chance to participate in a more level playing field with peers of similar age, experience and achievement.

The 2022 Ford AQHYA World, which highlights AQHA competitors ages 18-&-under from around the world, is tentatively scheduled for July 28 – August 7 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. For more information on the Ford AQHYA World, visit www.aqha.com/youthworld.

Adequan® Level 2 Select Core Classes

AQHA is also adding Adequan® Level 2 Select core classes to the Adequan® Select World. In 2022, eligible Adequan® Select World exhibitors will have the opportunity to compete in Adequan® Level 2 core classes at the Adequan® Select World, which is slated for October 28 – November 20 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. Adequan® Select exhibitors can check their eligibility for the Level 2 core classes online.

The 2022 Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World are the premier events in the equine industry for amateur, Select amateur and open exhibitors. For more information, visit www.aqha.com/worldshow.
