Important Update Regarding DNA Testing Labs from APHA

From the American Paint Horse Association:

APHA is aware that Etalon Diagnostics is not accepting new testing orders online and that an “Assignment for Benefit of Creditors” letter has been sent to Etalon customers with pending transactions. The letter advised that Etalon ceased all business operations as of April 15, 2026, and that Uecker & Associates Inc. was engaged as of April 21, 2026, to handle claims from creditors.

Etalon customers were advised April 27, 2026, to download their personal testing results from their customer portal by April 30, 2026.

Etalon Diagnostics’ test results that were reported to APHA will remain on file with the association. Those are viewable from the horse owner’s PHcentral.com profile after clicking on the applicable horse record to view DNA results.

The Veterinary Genetics Laboratory at the University of California–Davis remains a partner lab for APHA-related DNA testing, including genetic typing, parentage verification, color/pattern panels and genetic health panel testing. Testing can be ordered at PHcentral.com.
