Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit Named Top AQHA Show of 2020

Filed under: Club & Show News,Club and Show News |

Phelps Media Group release

The management team behind the Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit is thrilled to announce the record-breaking 2020 event has been awarded the coveted distinction of top American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Quarter Horse show. Ranked out of countless Quarter Horse shows across the nation, the management team is honored to receive this distinction and is grateful to all of the Florida Gold Coast exhibitors and staff that made such a successful event possible.

AQHA rankings are calculated by dividing the total entries by the number of shows within an event. The Florida Gold Coast saw competitors representing 37 states and 2 foreign countries, with 16,032 AQHA entries and 750 National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) entries, marking a total of 16,782 entries throughout the Florida Gold Coast circuit. For the last three years, the Florida Gold Coast has been named in the top three of AQHA annual events and circuits, and is thrilled to be ranked number one for 2020.

“We are so thrilled to once again have these shows recognized as some of the best in the country by the AQHA,” commented Kathy Avolt of An Equine Production. “In the midst of a challenging year, it truly took a village to accomplish such a designation, and we have to thank our exhibitors, staff and supporters for all of their hard work and dedication. We can’t wait to see everyone back in the show ring in 2021.”

Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit’s partner show, the Florida Gulf Coast Quarter Horse Circuit placed eighth in the standings, with the total number of entries exceeding 20,000 across all divisions between the two competitions. An Equine Production expects similar numbers in 2021, when the competition will return to Florida in December 2021.

Approved by the AQHA, American Paint Horse Association (APHA) and National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA), the competition has consistently been one of the highest-ranked events of its caliber, attracting exhibitors from coast to coast. In 2019, exhibitors included national contenders from nearly every state as well as international pairs from Switzerland, Belgium, Canada and beyond.
