First Winners Crowned at 2015 Breeders Halter Futurity/National Halter Championship!

The first winner of the 2015 Breeders Halter Futurity/National Halter Championship has been crowned this morning in Des Moines, Iowa!

In a class of 14 entries, Rick Leek led Ese A Looker to win the BHF Jr Weanling Colts and Geldings for owners Steve and Kelli Jensen. The Reserve Champion in the class was Kelley Stone with Inferno for Rigo and Jill Alvarado. Third place was Ted Turner with Don’t Raak My World for Tammy and Gary Raak. Fourth was Denny Hassett with GLS My Kid for Gene Schriner. Rounding out the top five was Holly Moon with Tres Sesente, who also happened to be the highest placing Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor team and Highest placing Non Pro.

In the second class, BHF Sr. Weanling Colts and Geldings, Ross Roark led Best Kept Secrete to the win for owner Robert Eurez. The Reserve Champion was Tim Finkenbinder with Attraxion for Mark Nebrugge. Third place was Monte Horn with BPFSuchFun for Clark Rassi. Fourth place was Luke Castle with CLS Floozies Cool. Fifth place was Jason Smith with Evolver.

In the BHF Jr Weanling Fillies, Taylor Licavoli led OMG How Cool Am I to the win and was also the highest placing Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor and Non Pro! Tom Robertson was at the lead of Baby Im Worth It for Lea Ann Koch. Gene Wilson and Touched By Faith placed third for owner Robert Richards. Fourth was Robert Eurez with Mea Mys. Kelley Stone and She’s Intensional placed fifth.

Judging this year’s event are Chip Knost, John Boxell, Steve Cruse, Mark DeFreece, Jeffrey Pait, Jerri Harmon, Debbie Kail, Keith Longacre, John Shepard, and Bruce Walquist. The largest class of the show will be the BHF Amateur Weanling Fillies with 52 entries, followed closely by BHF Open Open Sr. Weanling Colts and Geldings with 42 entries, and BHF Open Senior Weanling Fillies with 40!

In order to participate in the 2015 BHF classes, horses must have been sired by one of the Amateur Stallions: The Amazing Gunslinger, Heza Secret Agent, Grandslam Touchdown, The Home Run Kid, My Intention, Fearles, Ikon, PTMA Star Kid, Kid Coolsified, Secret Gunfighter, and Telesecret or one of the Open Stallions: Acoolest Touchdown, Goldin Casanova, Kidslookin Touchable, Apirates Life For Me, Grandslam Touchdown, Livation, Attencion, Hear The Cheers, Mr Elusive, A Zhivago, He’s Stylin, Mr Touchdown Kid, BRTSendingMyRegards, Hez N Command, My Intention, Cheer For Mocca, IEM The One, PF Premo, Chromed Up, I Gotta Cool Secret, PTMA Star Kid, CK Kid, Ikon, Rumerz, Im Employed, Classically, Secret Gunfighter, Cool Eternity, Im Tee Totally Cool, Suchan Ego, Ecredible, Im The Secret, Telasecret, Entrepreneurs Touch, Image Of Kid, Telling, Exact, Image Matters, The Amazing Gunslinger, Fearles, Intensions, The Home Run Kid, FG A Tru Fella, JCG Avenger, Very Cool, Forty Five Caliber, JF Skip N Style, Kid Coolsified, and Gianni.

At the conclusion of the show, thanks to the generosity of Gary and Tammy Raak, Twin Cities Featherlite, and Twin Cities South Trailers, the High Point Amateur and High Point Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor will each receive one year’s use of a horse trailer!
