EC Photo of the Day: Blessed are the Older Show Horses

Pictured are Pour Me Sum Tequila (Keela) and the daughter of Tiffany Merry, who is leasing Keela this year to show under the guidance of Baker Training Stables, Olympia, WA.

“Keela’s owner, Tarin Brascher, is taking the year off as a new mom, and Tiffany had just recently lost her show mare to a devastating illness, so leasing Keela out to their family was a great option for everyone,” says Jennifer Brascher.

“Keela was the 2025 High Point Walk/Trot Amateur horse at the APHA Western National Championship show *you previously posted a pic of her in her hunter/jumper Halloween costume with Tarin and baby girl Tanner, the youngest “competitor” at the National show.

Keela is 18 years old this year, and this picture shows how these older show mares are worth their weight in gold. Keela will be showing with lessee Tiffany and her daughters. Blessed are the older show horses; they show the new kids that there is nothing better than building a relationship with a good horse. These two just recently met but I’m pretty sure they love each other already!”
