EC Photo of the Day- Barn Dog Edition- A Foal’s Friend

Today’s EC Photo of the Day starts off our Barn Dog series! Due to the extreme popularity of our recent What’s the Best Barn Dog Breed? article, we realized just how much our equestrian friends love their four-legged companions!

This photo pictures Finn, the Greyhound, and Born A Diva, aka DD, (AQHA) of John and Wendy Perkins Quarter Horses from Hampton, New Brunswick, Canada.

“Sadly, DD’s mom passed away a couple hours after foaling and left the little filly as an orphan. Finn was a great companion for DD and even tolerated her sucking on his ears,” says Finn’s owner, Leah Currie. “He and I spent many nights in the stall with her until we found her a nurse mare. DD is now a beautiful 2-year-old!”

“I recently lost Finn to cancer; I doubt I’ll ever have another dog that loved being at the barn as much as he did!”
