“My sister, Ashlyn North, showed in the 2 Year Old Non Pro Western Pleasure Stakes (Sunday) and she was a finalist with the horse that she bred of her mare Expensive at the Bar by Lopin my Best,” says Kayla North.
“She did absolutely everything from picking out the mare, picked out a stud, and was there with the mare 24/7 and even watched that little colt come into this world. She worked morning and night along with her full time job, doing the basic ground work with this horse up until the horse went to Ray Carmean in Pennsylvania. She did just about everything with this amazing gelding. And it couldn’t have been done without Ray and Tonya Carmean, along with our parents and also John Shepard, by allowing us to keep the mare and our two year old at his farm. Forrest is definitely one of a kind horse. He’s Ashlyn’s unicorn.”
