Olympic Medal Winning Dressage Rider, Jane Savoie, to Compete in Ballroom Dancing

Ballroom dancing and dressage have similarities. Both pursuits require athleticism and precision Savoie began ballroom dancing five years ago and now competes. She says that each dance has a particular character and that it is like acting. “Waltz is very dreamy, and foxtrot is kind of cheeky, and rhumba is very sexy and sensual,” she said. “Every dance has a character, so you not only have to connect with your partner but you have to connect with the audience while showing the character of the dance with your attitude and your face.”

Our Sincere Condolences Following the Passing of Denny Thorsell

Dennis “Denny” Thorsell, 78, of Burbank, went to be with Jesus on February 28, 2017.

Born in Cleveland on Aug. 3, 1938, he dreamed of being a cowboy and spent the rest of his life living that dream. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a founding member of the Northern Ohio Quarter Horse Association. In 1997, he was elected to the OQHA Board of Directors and he served as Tri-Chairman at the All American Quarter Horse Congress since 2005.
