AQHA Director, Gilbert Arevalo, Has Passed

The equine industry has lost a valuable proponent. Gilbert Arevalo Sr. of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away at Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport on June 21 at 62. He was born on December 2, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Arevalo grew up in Gretna, Louisiana, and graduated from West Jefferson High School. In 1984, he and wife Della moved to the north side of the lake and eventually settled in Loranger with their children.

For the second time in the past five years, Mandy is battling cancer. As a result, she will not be able to attend the AQHA Youth World Show this fall to watch her daughter, Samantha, compete with Beamer. So, her barn crew decided to make signs, decorate the truck, deck out Beamer, and parade through her neighborhood in McKinney, Texas, much to the delight of local residents.
