BIG CHANGES- Modifications Approved to AQHA Stewards Program

A change is coming to American Quarter Horse Association competitions, as modifications to the AQHA stewards program roll out in 2016. Under these modifications, stewards will now be assigned to specific regions, will no longer be permitted to actively show in AQHA competition and will be required to attend steward seminars to expand their knowledge on animal welfare.

More quick thinking and help from WestWorld resulted in an alternate location for Trail classes. An area dubbed “The Pad” was built up with good footing on top of a parking area adjacent to its customary arena and lights were brought in.

Of the 80+ people who attended the SmartPak Trail Clinic over the weekend, Katelyn Bowen of Phoenix won the drawing for a SmartPak Ultimate Trail Package worth a whopping $5,800! The clinic was taught by Team SmartPak riders Charlie Cole, Jason Martin, Deanna Searles, and Jim Searles who explained how to maneuver through various obstacles while maximizing your scoring potential.
