Featured all weekend will be a vast assortment of seminars and demonstrations from experts in the areas of reining, barrel racing, dressage, three-day event, driving, jumping and trail. The Expo will further provide practical tips from saddle fitting, body clipping and trimming to planning your next barn, USDFA rules for horse shows, advice from a vet and more.

According to horse show management, there are some special items up for grabs for Highpoint awards in the Open, Amateur, Select, Novice Amateur, Novice Youth, 13 & under, and 14-18 divisions. Highpoint Champion will receive $1,000 in cash! Reserve Highpoint Champion will receive a Trainer’s Board. Third place will receive a monogrammed horse cooler.

Also taking place January 24–26 is the annual Color Breed Council Judges Academy, held at the Doubletree Hotel at Warren Place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billy Smith and APHA Director of Judges David Dellin will be among the attendees of this annual seminar, designed to educate judges who officiate APHA, ApHC, PtHA, PHBA, NSBA, AMHA, IBHA and POAC competitions.

On February 24 from noon-1:30 p.m., Convention-goers can sign up for the New President’s Inaugural Luncheon welcoming APHA President Mary Parrott, who is only the second female APHA president in the past 15 years. Outgoing President Gregg Reisinger will look back on his seven-year tenure as a member of the Executive Committee while Mary will present her vision for the upcoming year.
