The Great Lakes are about to become even greater with the addition of the Great Lakes Paint Horse Championship, which will take place in conjunction with the Zone 8 Show May 14–15 in Cloverdale, Indiana. In 2015, ISC added Novice Select Amateur Western Pleasure and Horsemanship. The popularity of those classes in the first year has led to adding two more Novice Select classes for 2016 – Trail and Showmanship. The Novice Select Amateur seems to be a growing segment at Quarter Horse shows and ISC shifts as our exhibitors change.

Continue reading …Taking the No. 1 spot for the seventh time in nine years was the Western Regional Zone 2 Zone Show, which took place May 21–22 in South Jordan, Utah. In 2015, the Utah Paint Horse Club-sponsored show attracted 1,110 entries to the six-judge event, which was also followed by a four-judge competition that also had nearly 1,000 entries.
