The first Futurity champions were crowned today in an exciting finals which filled the day in Oklahoma City. With an impressive ride, Jack Medows piloted Chicsdreamofdiamonds (Magnum Chic Dream x Princess In Diamonds) as draw 31 out of a field of 32 to a score of 218.5. The duo claimed the title of Cinch NRHA Non Pro Level (L)4 Champion as well as the Youth Non Pro Championship.

This change comes as the next step following the association’s new branding, which was unveiled earlier this year. A Mission Statement Task Force, chaired by Executive Committee member Dr. Craig Wood, spearheaded the effort to develop a memorable mission statement that encapsulated APHA’s goals while remaining clear and concise. The committee solidified the clean, new statement in a final meeting at the 2016 APHA World Championship Show, and the Executive Committee adopted the statement at their November 10 meeting.
