AQHA divisions – youth, amateur and open – are divided into levels. The levels – Rookie, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 – are formulated from an objective handicapping system that assigns exhibitors and horses to competition levels.
Most people wouldn’t know until they saw me. Then, they would know I have a disability. I have dwarfism. Finding a horse that is tolerate of different, but has the same cues, is a challenge… Most people would have given up on me years ago, but she is somehow still with it. About a month ago, she built me a mounting station, so I can now saddle and bridle my own horse without any assistance. After decades of years of riding, it’s nice to saddle my own horse. She pushes me to do everything average-size people do with horses, but maybe in a different way.

AQHA show management workshops are a great opportunity to review new rules and procedures for the upcoming year. Members watching the show management workshop without registering will not be able to take the show management workshop test, which is part of the official AQHA certification process.

She has fostered five dogs and one kitten through an organization called Pawmetto Lifeline, and coordinated the team’s Christmas stuffed animal drive, which benefitted underprivileged children. She also helped host children through the team’s Curing Kids Cancer events at One Wood Farm.

So the more Amateur classes you enter at the World Show, the more opportunities you have to win. The winner receives a three-horse slant Platinum trailer with a tack room, and it’s the winner’s to keep.
