The 2016 Arizona Sun Circuit is looking a little less than sunny at the moment, but never fear, there is a contingency plan in place. In the meantime, check out some of the incredible prizes that will be awarded when the competition begins.

“Regardless of the class, after attending these seminars you will make adjustments in how you exhibit your horse and/or yourself,” Ross said. “And in today’s competitive classes, minor changes that make you think like a judge can make a significant difference in your final placing.”

A few highlighted events will include the $10,000 Novice Non Pro Western Pleasure on Saturday and the $7,500 3 and Over Novice Horse Open Western Pleasure on Thursday.

Horses entered in NSBA approved futurity classes require a Certificate of Eligibility for competition. Horses holding a current Breeders Championship Futurity and/or Stallion Incentive Fund certificate will satisfy this requirement.

Following the 9:00 am Course Walk and Flatwork will be the OPEN ARTISAN Huntfield “Plastilite” Low Derby Finals at 10:00 am and the Open Butet Huntfield “VARGO Companies” Derby Finals to follow the Low Finals.

Earning first place, a $2,000 scholarship and a Montana Silversmiths belt buckle was Kaitlyn Glass of Energy, Texas. Glass’ project is the 2014 bay filly Big Madam Playgun by Big Playgun and out of Sarta Big Madam by Sarta Tari. She was bred by AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder Sid Miller of Stephenville, Texas.

The NRHyA is excited to announce the first annual Youth Leadership Development Symposium to be held January 22-23 in conjunction with the NRHA Winter Meeting at the historic Skirvin Hilton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. There will be four, two-hour sessions offered.
