Red Hot N Stylish Sweeps Open, Youth, and Amateur For Third Time in Her Career at APHA World

To sweep world championship titles across three divisions—Open, Amateur and Youth—spread out between two shows that are three months apart is no easy feat, but Red Hot N Stylish has made it seem effortless. The 2014 bay overo mare by Hes Stylin and out of Redhot Clusified LL was honored at the 2018 APHA World Championship on September 27 with the Scarlet Print Award—presented to horses that have achieved this significant feat—for the third time in her career.

AQHA Awards Policy Concerning Medication Positives

Further, ALL horses that record an official start under an offending trainer anytime in the calendar year AFTER the expiration of thirty (30) days of an Offending Trainer’s Positive Test being published on the AQHA website shall be ineligible to be considered for AQHA awards associated with the calendar year in which the positive test occurred and shall be ineligible to be included in AQHA media during the calendar year in which the positive test occurred; this also includes pending appeals of violations.

An expanded slate of ranch events—the addition of Novice Amateur and Solid Paint-Bred divisions, as well as ranch pleasure, ranch cow work and ranch reining classes—brought more ready-to-work riders to the premier Paint competition; ranch classes saw more than 270 entries across the Open, Amateur, Novice Amateur, Solid Paint-Bred and Amateur Solid Paint-Bred divisions.

– Went 1-0 for the Mustangs with one MOP.
– Opened the season with a 75-71.5 victory on the road over her South Carolina opponent while also picking up MOP honors.
– Her score of 75 was the highest Horsemanship score of the meet.
– Her 3.5-point margin of victory was the largest margin of victory by a Horsemanship rider during the meet.

While the eyes of the APHA industry have been focused squarely on Fort Worth for the APHA World Championship Show, AQHA competitors headed west to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Arizona Fall Championship Show. Dubbed the “Show For Everyone,” the event took place September 19-23 at WestWorld and provided a variety of fun, new events that awarded fantastic awards and cash payouts to the champions.

Auburn Equestrian at Top of Latest NCEA Rankings

The No. 1 Auburn Tigers took home the first win of the season last Thursday with a 15-4 victory over UT Martin on the road at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Center. The No. 2 spot goes to the Georgia Bulldogs who compete for the first time this season on October 5 when they travel to No. 9 South Carolina. No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 4 Oklahoma State hold their positions this week.  The two teams are slated to compete this Friday, September 28, in College Station, Texas.

Five Breeders Futurity Classes Pay $118,690 to Non Pros at APHA World

The APHA Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Breeders’ Trust classes brought big excitement and even bigger prizes to the Watt Arena September 21. Five classes paid $118,690 to eligible foals led by non-pro exhibitors. Reformatted in 2016, the Platinum Breeders’ Trust program saw 150 percent growth in entry payments for 2018 from 2017.
