Carol Kane Purchases Multiple APHA World Champion, Kid In A Candy Store

Carol Kane is excited to be partnering up with a new equine for the 2021 show season, the multiple APHA World and Reserve World Champion, Kid In A Candy Store. Carol, of Pelham, NH, purchased the fancy roan from the Harms family. She plans to show the gelding in Select events, while her daughter, Krissie Kane Fields, will show the horse in Novice Amateur events.

Carol will compete under the guidance of Zane Bates and Taylor Thayer, and her trainers are thrilled with the match. “We’d like to emphasize how happy we are to link Carol up with a great horse like she deserves after being in the industry she loves so long,” says Taylor. “She’s been searching for a big time Western Pleasure horse for a long time. Carol and Kid In A Candy Store will be under the guidance of my fiancé, Zane Bates, and myself, of Bates Show Horses in Addison AL. They will be specializing in Western All Around.”

Taylor would like to thank Tim and Shannon Gillespie for their hospitality and a wonderful buying experience.

“We chose this gelding, because he’s absolutely beautiful, externally decorated as a show horse and such a solid individual for Carol, which was priority number one,” Taylor says. “We love that he’s more than capable in so many events but still extremely competitive in Western Pleasure for Carol.”

“We have also noticed that he’s attached to the Gillespies’ potbelly pig, so we may have to look into getting him one of those! We’re excited to see what’s in store for this team in Western Pleasure and hoping to push them out of their zone a little with all around events.”

Congratulations to Carol on this exciting purchase. If you have fun news to share, email B.Bevis@EquineChronicle.com.
