Deadline For AQHA Rule Change Proposals is Dec. 31st

AQHA members have until December 31, 2019, to submit items for the 2020 convention, but if you believe there is a need for a major rule change, the Association encourages members to submit items earlier to give Association staff and/or committees and councils more time to prepare materials and communicate potential changes before the convention in March 2020. AQHA standing committees will meet at convention to consider the submitted items.

Other winners in the All Around include Whos Your Bay Bae ridden by Sara Newton for Kelly Brikenholz in the Open. Lauren Stanley and Extremely Good Stuff won the honor in Amateur while the Level 1 Amateur award went to Toni Ward and Good Cowboy Casanova. In Youth, it was Ella Petak and One Vital Code RV who accumulated the most points. Ima lazy Cowboy and Kaitlyn Bloom were Best of Show for Level 1.

Thanks to Beth Foster-Hattan for sharing this set of great photos from the recent Illinois Paint Horse Association Fall Shootout and Futurity that recently took place October 4-6 at Gordyville. During the show, the Illinois Junior Paint Horse Club hosted a wide variety of events. The raffle for a Harris work saddle was won by Lori Hodges Jackson and plenty of tickets were sold for $20 a piece, as a fundraiser.

The Bahamas does not produce its own hay, and with such incredible human dislocation on the islands, there is no safety net for horses. “These horses need us, and we are prepared to meet their needs in crisis,” said Jennifer Skiff, director of international programs for the Animal Wellness Foundation. “Our plan is to stabilize them, attend to any immediate needs, and to provide food for as long as six months.”
