Around the Rings Photos and Results – MQHA Spark Some Fun Show

Filed under: Around The Ring Galleries,Featured,Show Results & Gallery |

The Montana Quarter Horse Association recently held their Spark Some Fun Show in Billings, Montana, June 25-26, 2022.  It’s a Rookie Level 1 Show with a back-to-basics format that was well-received by exhibitors! The Montana Quarter Horse Association Amateurs produced the show, which is open to any attire, but bling is not necessary.

The show format has a clinic on Day One, followed by Trail that evening, then the full show with AQHA and All Breed on Day Two.  The day fee is kept low – around $80 – and the organizers get sponsors for everything they can.  The amateurs do a lot of the work by volunteering, and the clinician, Professional Horseman Joani Kissock, has donated her time for years.

MQHA Member Britt Kissock-Robinson and organizer had this to say:

“What a great weekend!  Thank you so much to Cathy Dekker (MQHA Amateur Chair) and Diana Robertson Spint (MQHA Amateur Vice Chair) for putting on a great show.

Thank you to the “Amazing Joani Kissock” (quote from Cathy) for again being our AQHA Professional Horseman to help the Rookies with AQHA rules and the show’s patterns.

Thank you AQHA Judge Cyndi Robbins for judging this show and encouraging our exhibitors, and Tyrell Burklund (MQHA President) for ring stewarding and keeping the cooler filled with Coke products!

Thank you Tammy Martin Berbee for coming up from Colorado to secretary the show.

Thank you to everyone who pitched-in when you saw something needing done or someone needing a hand.

And thank you to our sponsors- many of you have supported this show from the beginning – and YOU are what keep this show going!!

Lots of new faces – from kids at their first show to kids at heart returning to showing, lots of great horses, lots of encouragement from family and friends.  It was exactly what this show was meant to be!”
