At the top of their class list for the 2026 Washington State Paint Horse Club Star Spangled Classic, one will find this statement:
The Star Spangled Classic is committed to the Inspiration and Celebration of fellow paint horse enthusiasts.
The club’s dedication to the Paint Horse and its exhibitors is celebrated all year long, with special emphasis on the annual Star Spangled Classic. This year’s show at Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, Washington, spanned the dates of July 17th – 19th, 2026.
The six-judge show offered division high points, APHA classes, and all breed classes, as well as over $4800 in cash giveaways. The judges for Show One were Jim Edwards, Shane Young, and Brad Jones, and judges for Show Two were Robbin Jung, Michael Jung, and Trisha Armstrong.
Since 2019, a CHAMPS class has been held at the event with no expense to the riders from Empowering Strides, with prizes awarded and no membership required. WSPHC also focuses on youth at the show in many ways, but a standout is the recognition of each ride for youth by allowing them to choose a prize for each class they enter.
The show additionally awarded the Tracy Shultz Sportsmanship Award to Lilly Russo at the show!
“This award honor’s Tracy’s life and memory by recognizing the individual (as nominated and selected by the exhibitors and those at our show) who exemplifies kindness, courage, and tenacity – traits Tracy exemplified every time her foot went into a stirrup,” says WSPHC.
Congratulations to the high point champions:
