However, the theme of the show surrounds youth, and the scholarships for those precious beacons of the future!  Read on for the summary from the TPHC President.

From Sandy DuBose, Texas PHC President:

The Texas Paint Horse Club held their annual scholarship show, PAINT THE FUTURE.  TPHC gave out $32,000 in scholarships to our youth members. In the funded classes, first wins $500, second wins $300, and a random draw exhibitor wins $200. Our club produces some of the top youth riders every year.

We awarded 90 “big” checks as well as two $1,000 merit academic scholarships. This was our 12th annual youth scholarship show.

We attract riders from across the US. We also offered a $1,000 western pleasure sweepstakes class that had excellent pleasure horses.

Our youth advisor, Megan Boyle, organized fun events for the youth, a spoon and egg race, and a costume class.

We especially want to thank our generous members who donated the scholarship money. 100% of the money raised is given out in scholarships, the club covers administrative costs.

A big thanks to our sponsors; we had pizza night, healthy snack day, cupcakes, and finished with donuts on Sunday. Show-Off Designs made the awards and sponsored the show. Signature Stitchworks donated awards for overall open, amateur, and youth riders, high point and reserve.

Thank you to Sandy and to all the TPHC officers, members, and sponsors for celebrating our youth.
