AQHA Cutting Champion Stallion Dual Peppy and Other Horses in Black Forest Neglect Case Transferred to CO. Rescue Ranch

EC Stock Image.Breaking NewsMany of our EquineChronicle.com readers will remember the very disturbing story of the Black Forest horses that were seized in September 2014 . Ten surviving horses and four llamas were removed from a Black Forest, CO. property where dozens of decomposing horse carcasses were discovered.

Public outrage soon developed following the discovery that AQHA cutting horse World Champion stallion Dual Peppy was among the surviving animals.

It was just announced this week that eight horses, formerly belonging to Sherri Brunzell, have been transferred in ownership to Blue Rose Ranch, Inc. Horse Rescue and Adoption in Springfield, CO. The group will care for the horses until they can be sold.

According to the Ranch’s website, it operates on four properties that encompass 832 acres where horses have ample opportunity to graze and roam. For more information about Blue Rose Ranch, visit their website.
