On January 25, the American Quarter Horse Association Executive Committee announced the promotion of AQHA Chief Legal Counsel Chad Pierce to the expanded role of chief compliance officer, while still retaining his chief legal counsel and interim executive vice president positions.

Pierce, who has served as AQHA’s legal counsel since 2003, will continue to serve as interim executive vice president during the organization’s expanded search for a permanent executive vice president.

“I look forward to this new and expanded role in AQHA’s future, as it blends perfectly with my expertise and the needs of AQHA moving forward,” said Pierce. “The Association is showing industry growth in memberships, along with expansion in AQHA events and programs, which is a result of a remarkably dedicated staff and our members who share a common passion – the American Quarter Horse. Our goal as an Association is to continue to provide enhanced services, benefits and programs for our members and their American Quarter Horses around the world.”

“We have been extremely fortunate to have Chad in the role of chief legal counsel over the past two decades,” said AQHA President Norman K. Luba. “In his expanded role, we anticipate his extraordinary judgement to continue in assuring that AQHA remains the leader in the horse industry in an ever-changing world.”
