2027 AQHA Leveling Point Ranges Now Available

The 2027 AQHA leveling point ranges are now available online, allowing exhibitors and horse owners to begin evaluating their eligibility for the upcoming show season.

Leveling point ranges determine the levels in which exhibitors and horses are eligible to compete at AQHA-approved shows. By reviewing the updated point ranges and comparing them with their current show records, exhibitors and owners can estimate their eligibility for the 2027 show season. Eligibility is based on points earned through October 31, 2026.

The online verification system, which provides exhibitors and horse owners with class-by-class eligibility information, will be updated before January 1, 2027. In accordance with SHW250, points are tabulated through October 31 each year, so eligibility is available for shows beginning in January.

Level eligibility becomes effective January 1 and remains in place through December 31, regardless of points earned during the current show year. As a reminder, leveling point ranges do not include points earned in lower levels of the same class. For example, any points earned in Level 1 classes do not count toward the point limit to be eligible in Level 2.

AQHA points are only one component of the leveling process. Eligibility is also influenced by awards earned, including alliance partner achievements and earnings, as well as money won through other equine organizations and associations. Exhibitors are responsible for updating their Level 1 eligibility annually to report accomplishments earned outside of AQHA competition.

Additional championship show eligibility rules also remain in effect. Exhibitors who win a class (except halter) at the AQHA Level 1 Championships are no longer eligible to compete in that class at future Level 1 Championships. Likewise, exhibitors who win a class at the Adequan® Level 2 Championships become ineligible to compete in that class at future Level 2 Championships for the following three years (except halter and open heading and heeling). Provided they otherwise still qualify for Level 1 or Level 2, they may continue to compete in those classes during regular weekend AQHA competition.
