Trusten Dever Earns First Gold Globe with The Best Party Ever

Trusten Dever earned his first gold globe on Wednesday at the 2026 AQHYA World Championship Show, as he and The Best Party Ever clinched the win in the Finals of the L3 Trail 14-18.

The original prelims saw 81 teams competing for the chance to come back to Wednesday morning’s finals.

He showed the 2016 bay gelding by RL Best Of Sudden and out of The Party Starts Now (by Invitation Only), bred by Keith Labrie of Southampton, Massachusetts, to a winning work total score of 244.0.

Afterward, Trusten says the side pass was his most anticipated maneuver, but he’d worked hard on it the night before. “Everything else came and went pretty easy,” he says.  He likes his new horse, “JJ,” one they acquired in early May, about two weeks before they went to the AQHA West L1 Championships.

“He’s probably the best horse I’ve owned,” explains Trusten, who is grateful for the help of all the trainers at the Reid Thomas Performance Horses barn.
