Stan and Mary Kay Steyskal Memorial Scholarship

The Stan and Mary Kay Steyskal Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life, legacy, and lasting impact of Stan Steyskal, a dedicated horseman, respected breeder, and cherished member of the Nebraska Quarter Horse Association.

Alongside his beloved wife, Mary Kay, Stan devoted more than 60 years to breeding some of the finest American Quarter Horses in the industry. As AQHA Leading Breeders since 1987, their breeding program produced countless World and Congress Champions, as well as legendary horses including AQHA Hall of Famer Tiger Leo, Iron Rebel, Good Version, Natural Iron, Stylish Iron, and many others. Stan’s influence continues to be felt in pedigrees, show arenas, and breeding programs across the country.

Stan was admired for his unwavering dedication to the Quarter Horse industry, his commitment to excellence, and his willingness to support and encourage others. His passion for the breed left a mark on the Nebraska Quarter Horse community.

This scholarship is awarded in Stan’s memory to recognize and support individuals who demonstrate the same dedication, integrity, work ethic, and passion for the American Quarter Horse that defined his life.

Through this scholarship, Stan’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations to pursue excellence, give back to the industry, and carry forward the values he exemplified throughout his remarkable life.
