The Capital Quarter Horses program produces horses bred to perform – and love – their jobs.
The Cooki Monster is legendary – the 2018 Chestnut mare by Machine Made and out of A Cooki For Certain (the dam of Whatscookingoodlookin, aka “Candi,”) was bred and raised by Capital Quarter Horses.
The win count of “Cher” didn’t come to mind right away when Susan Roberts came off another win with The Cooki Monster at the 2025 NSBA World Championship Show, this time in the Non Pro Western Pleasure Maturity with earnings of $1460.90 in the class.
But Susan has this to say, “There’s not another horse like this – I’ve never had a horse that goes in and just loves her job like this horse does. She’s a happy horse. You barely have to touch her in the pen. She never tries to cheat and she’s just kind. I can’t even express how much I love this horse.”
She adds, “RJ (King) has his favorites, and Cher is one – he also loves Winifred (Up To Know Good), the horse Hillary showed today. This morning as we were getting ready, he was holding the bucket for her while she ate her grain in the aisle.”
