2D Jackpots Added to Trail, Ranch Riding, and Reining at Sun Circuit

If you’re already riding in the class, why not ride for CASH? There are now jackpots in Reining, Ranch Riding, and Trail at Sun Circuit held March 5-13 in Scottsdale, AZ. The 2D Jackpots will run concurrently with just one day of each of the following classes, so be sure to check the schedule: Junior, Senior, Amateur and Select Reining; Junior, Senior, L1 Amateur, Amateur, and Select Ranch Riding; and Junior, Senior, Amateur, and Select Trail.

It’s a familiar sight at any horse show. A rider, astride a mount, leads another unsaddled horse alongside. Whether solely for exercise, desensitizing to the show environment, or simply because there were no more longing spots to be had, ponying a horse is a well-used training and conditioning technique. But, as any rider in a crowded warm-up pen can attest, there’s definitely a right and a wrong way to do it. Also, ponying isn’t just a skill to be reserved for horse shows. As we will learn from our experts, there are a wide variety of applications for ponying, back on the ranch, as well.

Sincerest Condolences Following Passing of OQHA’s Clark Bradley

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association is saddened to announce the passing of Clark Bradley. Bradley of Findlay, Ohio came from a family dedicated to the Ohio Quarter Horse Association. Clark Bradley was an instructor at the University of Findlay for 26 years. He became an active coach with the University of Findlay’s western equestrian team in 1996. He has helped coached several national championship teams and two reserve national championship squads.
