A horse trailer has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating – the amount the trailer can hold including itself and still be safe. The GVWR is always more than the actual weight of the loaded trailer. The towing capacity should be 20% more than the weight it’s pulling. If you’re not sure of the weight, have it be 20% more than the GVWR.

With a brand new schedule and even more added money classes this year, there is also a fun specialty event- Bridleless Trail- that will take place on Friday following Western Riding. This class is being sponsored by Barbie Evans and Bunting Performance Horses. Also returning in 2018 is the $500 added money NSBA 3/4-Year-Old Open and Non Pro Western Pleasure and Open and Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle classes. In addition, Ranch Riding, Youth/Adult Walk Trot, and Rookie classes are also on the schedule.

Clarify the law so that both a quarter horse and the quarter horse race are BOTH registered with the AQHA. FQHRA’s position on current pari-mutuels is simple: just follow the law. If a quarter horse track has a permit to run 40 days of horse races, then they should be required to run the appropriate number of live races and not be rewarded with the ability to have card rooms or slot machines without following the intent and spirit of the law.
