“Exhibitors can compete at any of the four Regional Championships; however, competitors can only compete in one Regional Championships each year,” said Charlie Hemphill, AQHA director of shows and new events. “These shows are the best way for exhibitors to get their feet wet in AQHA championship shows.”

He was past president and honorary vice president of the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association, and was inducted in the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in December 2015. He is a member emeritus of the Pikes Peak Range Riders and a member of the Southern Colorado Cutting Horse Association.

She was drawn to their athleticism and heart. Hanson showed in the open division as a youth, and earned the title of AQHA reserve world champion in western riding in 1988 aboard the mare Lo Lindo.

None of us wanted the pressure of point chasing. That takes the fun out of why we really enjoy showing.
