“To put it simply, Hendra virus has shaken the equine veterinary profession and the horse owning community in a way that we’d never experienced before. Hendra first emerged in 1994 in Queensland and it is responsible for the deaths of four people, including two veterinarians, Dr Ben Cunneen in 2008, and Dr Alister Rodgers in 2009,” he said.

The Georgia Bulldogs swept the hunt seat awards with Addyson Cord receiving the NCEA Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Year and Maddy Darst claiming the NCEA Equitation over Fences Rider of the Year award. For the Western discipline, SMU’s Holly Lansidel was named the NCEA Reining Rider of the Year. Laska Anderson of Texas Christian University was tagged as the NCEA Horsemanship Rider of the Year.
