2015 Fox Lea Farm Winter Circuit Concludes With Whopping 6,400 Entries, Click Here For Complete Results

Many in the equine industry look to the first horse shows of the year to serve as a benchmark by which to gauge the health and vitality of the industry and a predictor for the upcoming show season. If the recent Fox Lea Farm Winter Circuit is any indication, 2015 has a promising future ahead.
The event that recently concluded over the weekend in Venice, Florida recorded more than 6,500 entries across all divisions, a marked increase of more than 1,300 entries from last year, according to Mark Harrell Horse Shows. Even more impressive, if you take a look at the entry total for 2014 (5,200 entries) that amount had nearly doubled over entries recorded in 2013.
Judges for the 2015 Winter Circuit were Tina Anderson, Judd Paul, Jeff Greaves, Steve Meadows, Brent Tincher, Jon Barry and Katherine Kope with speciality judges including Ann Pennington, Scott Hofstetter, Mindy Coleman, and Andy Lomker.
Like in years past, showgoers enjoyed plenty of parties and social events that kicked off with a Welcome Breakfast sponsored by Carrie Grose Quarter Horses, a Meet and Greet Exhibitor Party at the Ramada, and an Exhibitor Party on Friday evening, sponsored by The Sweet Shop. Highlighted classes included the National Quarter Horse League Huntfield Trail Derby, Huntfield Trainer Medal, $500 Huntfield Hunter Derby, $500 Huntfield Low Hunter Derby, Non Pro Hunter Derby Finals, Non Pro Low Hunter Derby Finals, Huntfield Equine Chronicle Youth Equitation Over Fences Medal, Huntfield Beval Amateur Equitation Over Fences Medal, and the debut of the Huntfield Performance Hunter Under Saddle. Another exciting event occurring at the same time at Fox Lea Farm was the first ever USEF recognized Western Dressage competition, which saw 47 tests.
