More than 200 equine veterinarians will head to the Gold Coast this weekend to learn about the latest in horse health – including infectious diseases, emerging medicines and surgery techniques as well as common horse ailments.

“Since there is some confusion regarding the World Wide Paint Horse Congress and the Green Country Paint Horse shows, we felt it beneficial to explain the situation,” stated Congress Chair Casey West. “These two shows (WWPHC 8 judges and GCPHC 4 judges) are independent of each other. They are two separate, independent shows, being held at the same facility, in different arenas, with ALL stall reservations/payments being made to Diane Gage, Congress Show Secretary.”

The wagon rolled while coming around one of the barrels during morning training. Haroldson was thrown from the wagon and taken by ambulance to hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Results and Fun Photos From 2014 Big A and Stars N Stripes

One of the main events that has taken place thus far is the National Quarter Horse League Big A Open Trail Derby on Sunday, which was sponsored by Sea Ridge Farms. After two rounds of competition, the big winner was Bruce Vickery aboard In Prinzziples Image for Kelly, Tim, and Chaney Getchell. The team earned $750 for their efforts and scored an impressive total of 496.5 points, an 80.5 and 83 respectively.

For winner Robin Bond, after a childhood spent doing jumping and gymkhana she worked for Sandy Arledge Quarter Horses for ten years learning about cow horses. It was natural that she’d want to participate.
