2014 Martinganza is Moving Dates For Warmer Weather, April 3-6

Filed under: Club & Show News |

Cold weather be gone! Frostbitten fingers no more! Exhibitors planning to attend the Martinganza Quarter Horse Show and Futurity in 2014 will receive a pleasant surprise when they learn that the show has decided to move their dates from February to April. In addition to taking advantage of the warmer weather, the date reassignment will provide exhibitors with a three-show loop that extends from March to April.

“If anyone wants to hit the road for several shows, there is a show March 28-30 in Lumberton, NC,” says Martinganza Show Secretary Susan Daniels. “Then, they can come up I-95 and Hwy 64 to Williamston, NC to Martinganza for April 3-6 and on to Virginia for the Virginia Classic in Lexington.”

As Daniels previously stated, the new official dates for the 2014 Martinganza are April 3-6. At this time, judges are being hired, vendors and sponsors are being contacted, and show management is working on the format for their Futurity and Slot classes.

“We are excited about this move and are planning to have lots of fun,” she says. “We are hoping our exhibitors will be able to support us in our move to warmer weather! Our exhibitor party is being planned, and advertisements are being worked on. We would like for folks to save the date and join us for a GREAT show in April.”

In addition to the new dates, the show will be hosting NSBA approved classes in 2014. Also, plan to take advantage of a new all-inclusive flat fee and the opportunity to receive priority stall placement with a prepaid option.

Circuit awards will be presented in every class, and All Around awards will be given in Open, Amateur, Select, Youth 13 and Under, and 14-18 divisions. High Point awards will be given in Novice Youth, Novice Amateur, and Small-Fry (10 and Under). One fun event to look forward to is the Showmanship Shootout, a jackpot class where monies will be paid back to the winners in accordance with NSBA rules.

The show manager for the 2014 event will be Jason Tew. If exhibitors would like to go ahead and book a stall to reserve priority location, contact Susan Daniels at 919-894-2973 or 919-894-0600 today. The host hotel will be the Inn at Moratoc, which may be contacted by calling 252-792-3184.
