Head deep into the heart of the wild, wild West this year for the 2016 Western Paint Horse Championship, which takes place May 26–30 in conjunction with the Zone 2 Show in South Jordan, Utah. Hosted by the Utah Paint Horse Club, the Western Paint Horse Championship has something for everyone.

In addition to a full gamut of classes at the Zone 2 show—ranked as APHA’s No. 1 show by entries for the last several years—16 Championship classes will provide special recognition to zone exhibitors. To compete in the Championship classes, exhibitors must reside in Zone 2, which consists of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah. Exhibitors also cannot have placed in the Top Five in a halter class or Top 10 in a performance class at an APHA World Championship Show in the past five years. Click here for full eligibility requirements.

The Paint Horse Championships celebrate the success of exhibitors at the regional level and encourages local participation. APHA sponsors awards for up to 15 classes, along with up to $3,500 in awards for Zone classes. Paint Horse Championship class winners each receive a custom Gist Silversmiths belt buckle, and 2nd–6th place receive medallions.
