Today’s classes at the AQHA World Show have been dedicated to the Halter discipline.

First, Josh Weakly led Bigger Dreams to win Amateur Weanling Colts. The Reserve Champion was Fully Explosive, led by Alexandra Strom. Steven Phillips and My Bravado were third. Fourth was Julie Smith with Rileys Agent. Fifth was Terry Borcherding with Justified Intentions.

Christine West

Josh Weakly led Lu Scion to win Amateur 2-Year-Old Geldings. He was followed in Reserve by Warren English with Maui Jym. Bob Cassata and PTMA The Rock were third.

Josh and Lu Scion, a CR Golden Nugget-bred gelding, just came off an exceptional Congress where they were named the Amateur Grand Champion Gelding team. Ross Roark also led Lu Scion to win the Open Grand Champion Gelding title.

Scott Trahan

Scott Trahan and Evinceble won Amateur Yearling Colts. Terry Nutt and Juz Sayin were the Reserve Champions. Third was Mariah Gipson with I Got Cool Luck.

Tom Robertson led Evinceble to win Yearling Colts at the Congress and Scott Trahan followed that up with a win of his own in Amateur Yearling Colts. This is a very special colt for Trahan, because it’s out of a daughter of his former stallion, Very Cool, that he has since sold to Fossil Gate Farms.

Katie Fox and Romeiro were the Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallion Champions. The Reserve Champion was Lauren Wolf with Hez Custom Made. Third was Joy Stehney with Exxpectation.

Steve Jensen

Dan Fox led Romeiro to win Amateur Yearling Stallions at the 2017 Congress and followed up that win with another in Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallions this year. He has owned the colt by PF Premo since January of 2017 and hopes to begin breeding him to his own mares in 2019.

Steven Jensen and Ese A Looker won Amateur 3-Year-Old Stallions. Tammi Smith and Obviously Preplanned were the Reserve Champions. Third was Barbara Hoffer with Not Kiddin Me Mister.

Finally, Holly Saigo and Eli won Amateur Aged Stallions. The Reserve Champion was Gary Waznek with Coosley Done. Third was John Coltharp with Bet Hesa FreckledCat.
