If you’re starting to plan your 2015 show schedule already, be sure to put the SOQHA Madness and SOQHA Youth Show at the top of your list. With all new arenas, new footing, more stalls available, new prizes, and a new schedule, the 2015 event is set to be the best ever!

The SOQHA Madness Show kicks off on April 2nd and will continue through April 5th at the recently revamped Roberts Arena in Wilmington, Ohio. Judges for the show will be Chad Evans, Leonard Berryhill, Kelly McDowall, Jeff Mellott, Keith Miller, and Valerie Kearns.

In 2015, the show will be paying even deeper in The Equine Chronicle 3-Year-Old and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure class with a $15,000 check going to the winner! Also, there will be Champion and Reserve Champion Maiden and Limited Rider awards too. The main event will take place on Saturday following Trail and Western Riding classes.

In order to participate in this class, a $1,500 entry fee must be sent in by March 9, 2015. However, there will be the opportunity to enter at the show by Friday, April 3rd at noon for a cost of $2,500 per horse. Checks should be made payable to SOQHA and can be mailed to Mark Harrell Horse Shows at PO Box 691 Caseyville, IL 62232.

The projected payback will go even deeper than in year’s past. In addition, the highest placing maiden horse will receive $5,000, and the second highest placing maiden horse will receive $2,500. The Limited Champion will be presented with $1,000 and Reserve will be paid $500. To sweeten the pot even further, a bonus of $3,000 will be paid out, if the winner is riding in a Harris saddle!

  • 3rd- $5,000
  • 4th- $3,500
  • 5th- $3,000
  • 6th- $2,500
  • 7th- $2,000
  • 8th- $1,500

If you aren’t planning to compete in the Equine Chronicle 3 and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure; don’t worry, there will be plenty of other opportunities to score cash and incredible prizes. Random draw prizes will return in 2015 as well as circuit awards and Champion and Reserve High Point prizes. Tablets, TVs, and much more will be up for grabs!

After the Madness Show, stick around for the SOQHA Youth Show that will be providing scholarships to the Champion and Reserve Champion winners in Novice Youth, 13 and Under, 14-18, and Small Fry divisions. The show will take place April 11-12, and the judges will be Terry Cross, Robin Frid, Robin Griggs, and Jeff Greaves.
