The 2019 Silver Dollar Circuit kicks off today in Viva Las Vegas with a schedule that show management hopes will help to streamline travel and accommodate for work and school commitments for exhibitors. All youth and amateur events at the show this year have been strategically placed Friday through Sunday with Halter and Showmanship classes to take place on Monday morning.

Today’s classes include Western Riding, Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, and Pleasure Driving. In the Main Arena, not to take place before 5 pm is the Premier Quarter Sires Senior Trail Stakes for Level 2 horses.

According to show management, the size of the show remains consistent as in years past with 600 stall reservations and more expected to roll in over the weekend. Judges for the event are Sissy Anderson, Elizabeth Baker, John Barry, Tony Burris, Rick Christy, April Devitt, Casey Devitt, Shawn Hays, Chris Jones, Dean Ross, Bennie Sargent, and Daren Wright.

Special events at the show kick off today with Hatty Hour at Kimes Ranch. From 4-6 pm today, stop by the Kimes Ranch Experience Booth to create your own custom hat for FREE! On Saturday, there will be a Youth Scavenger Hunt around the show grounds that promises to be lots of fun. In addition, horse show exhibitors get VIP entrance into The Spazmatics-the Ultimate New Wave 80s Show. In the horse show arena, the Premier Quarter Sires 3-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure and Premier Quarter Sires Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Maturity will take place.

On Sunday, Kimes Ranch will be holding the Hop In Your Horns Race. There will be a pile of jeans in the center of the arena with a special prize in the pocket. Contestants will have to run to the middle of the arena, put on a pair of jeans, and make it to the Congress Queen to redeem the prize. The special PQS class for Sunday is 3-Year-Old Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle.

On Monday, Silver Dollar will be holding its always popular Karaoke Party as well as the PQS 4-5-Year-Old Trail Stakes. Tuesday’s PQS classes include the $5,000 Open Western Pleasure and $5,000 Open Hunter Under Saddle. On Wednesday, the PQS will hold their 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure and 3-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle classes.
