The Bushy Park Farm trio of horse owner Steve Robinson, Breeding Manager Clark Rassi, and Ranch Manager Daryl Lankin had a successful morning at the 2014 AQHA World Championship Show when Ross Roark led IEM The One to a big win in Two-Year-Old Stallions. IEM The One is a beautiful bay stallion by the farm’s sire Telasecret and out of Sierra Tease. He was bred by Clark Rassi and Chad Beus.

Ever since IEM The One was born, just two years ago, Robinson’s had his eye on this special stallion.

“He was born at Bushy Park Farm a couple years ago, and I’ve had my eye on him ever since,” Robinson says. “I was able to buy him from Chad and Clark about six months ago, and it’s all paid off so far. He spent his whole life at the farm in Aubrey, and Ross shows him for us.”

“He’s the complete package. He has everything I have been breeding for, for five years, and everything Clark and Daryl have been breeding for, for 20 years. Clark knew when he hit the ground that he was going to be special, and hopefully this is just the start.”

Roark’s win this morning marks the first World Champion title for Robinson, which is something he’s thrilled about. “All the hard work and expense finally paid off!”

Although the group hasn’t decided if IEM The One will be retired after this win or not, Robinson certainly sees a breeding future for this dynamic horse.

“He doesn’t really have anything to prove now except for what his babies can do,” Robinson says. “He’s N/N, so he’s going to see a big future breeding to a lot of of N/H mares. If he takes on the tradition of his dad, he should be a really good sire. Clark and Daryl and I have Telasecret together, we own Fearles together, and we have several mares together, so [it’s been a good partnership.]”

The Reserve World Champion in the class today was Tim Finkenbinder with Ima Safe Bet, a chestnut stallion by Very Cool and out of Tais Awesome Hilda, for owner John Peck. The third place team was Buddy Laney with FG Ambassador, a sorrel stallion by Im Tee Totally Cool and out of RS Skip Clue, for Gary and Linda Gordon.
