Remembering Longtime EWD Competitor Stacey Johnson
National Snaffle Bit Association is deeply saddened to share the passing of long-time Equestrians With Disabilities (EWD) exhibitor Stacey Johnson. Stacey will be remembered by the EWD community for her warm smile, caring heart and welcoming presence.

A Familiar Face at the World Show
Stacey had a special fondness for the NSBA World Championship Show, where she competed for the past 15 years. Her love for the event and the people who make it special shone through every time she entered the arena.

15 Years of Competition
Stacey’s equestrian career included competing in Special Olympics Texas and EWD – Independent classes. She was a member of both the Equest and Stable Strides Therapeutic Riding Center show teams and represented them at national-level competitions ranging from Chisholm Challenge, Dixie Nationals and Fun In The Sun to the Appaloosa Horse Club World Championship Show, All American Quarter Horse Congress and the NSBA World Championship Show.
Stacey won numerous championships at the Dixie Nationals and Chisholm Challenge in EWD – Independent Showmanship, Horsemanship, Western Pleasure and Trail, as well as an ApHC world championship and an All American Quarter Horse Congress championship in EWD Showmanship. She was also a reserve world champion in EWD Walk Trot Hunter Under Saddle – Independent at the NSBA World Championship Show.
