The deadline to register for the 2021 AQHA Convention, slated for March 18-22 at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, is February 10. After February 10, a late fee will be applied to the registration fee.

Register online.

This year’s convention will be hosted as an in-person business format, and AQHA will not offer virtual options during convention.

During convention, attendees will focus on business initiatives, including committee and council meetings; reviewing member-submitted rule-change proposals; interviewing, nominating and electing new AQHA directors; and electing the AQHA Executive Committee. AQHA reserves the right to make modifications to convention due to the worldwide pandemic. View the tentative schedule.

The Association’s top priority is the health and safety of AQHA members and staff. AQHA is committed to hosting all in-person equine events in accordance with local, state and federal mandates. AQHA and the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio are partnering to ensure the safety of attendees to implement event health protocols and social-distancing mandates during convention. The 2021 AQHA Convention Health Protocols will be published at www.aqha.com/convention once the protocols are finalized.

“It is important to recognize that there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any setting where people are present,” said Craig Huffhines, AQHA executive vice president. “AQHA leadership understands that there are travel restrictions both internationally and domestically for our members, in addition to the health concerns that members may have. We respect your decision when determining whether you plan to attend this year’s convention.”

For absence concerns, the AQHA Executive Committee reviews the board of director and committee absences after convention each year. Please submit a formal written notice regarding the reason you will not be attending the 2021 AQHA Convention to convention@aqha.org. Your notice will be shared with the AQHA Executive Committee and taken into consideration when the Executive Committee reviews absences after the convention.

For convention-related questions, email convention@aqha.org or call AQHA Manager of Organizational Events Cheyenne Tyk at 806-378-4320 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central, Monday through Friday.
