Redbud to Include Spectacular Payouts

May 13, 2021 – Bethany, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association 2021 Redbud Spectacular is offering several opportunities to win money as well as earn points and awards in Oklahoma City, OK, at the premier State Fair Park, June 3-13, 2021.

 The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association has added a total of $10,000 for all levels of the Trail, Horsemanship, Western Riding, and Showmanship. There is a $50 jackpot and 100% will be added into each class.  Projected total purses could exceed $40,000!

OQHA is grateful for the support of two generous sponsors. Janie Dvorak-Compton and Keller Performance Horses have added $5,000 to the AQHA Ranch Riding classes at the Redbud.  The sponsorship includes $1,000 per class for Level 1 Ranch Riding, Junior Ranch Riding, and Senior Ranch Riding, $500 added to Amateur Ranch Riding, Amateur Select Ranch Riding, and Youth Ranch Riding, and $250 added to Level 1 Amateur Ranch Riding and Level 1 Youth Ranch Riding.  There is a one-time $50 jackpot fee and 100% will be added back into those classes.

OQHA will be offering over $40,000 in prizes and awards.  Prizes will be given in classes as well circuit awards and high point awards.  Shorty’s Caboy Hattery, Oklahoma City, OK, has donated hat certificates and daily award product from Healthy Hare Care Products, Dade City, FL.  Many other tack and awards will be handed out during the horse show.

 Other new additions to the Redbud are Amateur Select Level 1 Western Pleasure, Amateur Select Level 1 Horsemanship, Amateur Select Level 1 Trail, and Amateur Select Level 1 Showmanship, Rope Oklahoma Incentive money, and the ARHFA Open heading, heeling and calf roping futurity and the Non Pro heading and heeling.

Additional activities include the Redbud Ranch Riding Challenge with added money for Open, Amateur, Amateur Select, Youth, and Level 1 Divisions.  Events include Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, and Ranch Reining.

This year OQHA will offer a flat rate of $650 for all divisions and all classes. The Redbud Show booklet is available online with the fee schedule and other important information.

OQHA is requesting that all horses be pre-entered on the fillable form found on https://okqha.org/redbud-spectacular/ prior to the horse show.  OQHA is requesting forms and be emailed to akentries@gmail.com.  Pre-entry deadline is May 25, 2021.  OQHA has also began using Horse Show Tracker to allow results to be transmitted quickly to the office, announcer and the web.
