Rebecca Figueroa, well known for her success with Check Required across AQHA and APHA arenas, purchased Huntin A Hot Cowgirl on Friday from Alexa Black, and she began showing him Saturday at the NSBA World Show in Amateur Western Horsemanship under the guidance of her trainers, Carly and Wade Parks.  Rebecca says she has always admired “Hunter.”

“I have really enjoyed watching Alexa show, so when I’ve had the luxury of getting to ride him a few times, we just really got along,” Rebecca explains.  “He is more my style and feel, so having one that I can focus on position with, and pushing every element of the patterns in the equitation and the horsemanship with is something I really enjoy being able to do; it just clicked between us from the start!”

Carly Parks, who has had Huntin A Hot Cowgirl in the barn with Youth Alexa Black for approximately two years, says Alexa’s goal was to win a globe, and she ended up winning four globes with him.  She explains Hunter has been an incredible horse for her and she’s thrilled Hunter will be staying in the barn for Rebecca. “He’s a really reliable and cool horse, and you can really go for it on him,” she says.

After Youth World, Carly texted Becca that she had an idea, and it was for her to purchase Hunter, and Rebecca loved it.  “She bought him yesterday,” Carly says, “and there is no learning curve; any time she has hopped on him the last couple of years, it has been a great match, and I’m super excited he gets to stay.”
