PtHA Wrangler Exhibitor of the Month- Mallory Dobbs

The PtHA Wrangler Exhibitor of the Month for January is Mallory Dobbs from Olympia Washington. Dobbs is a youth exhibitor who has been showing for 10 years.

Dobbs shows her 8-year-old gelding named RS Sure Fooled You, also know as Wylee. Dobbs recalls her first show at a local pinto event with her first horse, Bubba, a 7-year-old Paint Horse.

“We both had never shown before, so it was definitely interesting,” Dobbs said. “Every day, I am thankful for the learning experiences we had together because it made me the rider I am today.”

Nowadays, Dobbs shows Wylee, which was a new experience because she bought him as a 3-year-old and began training him from scratch. Together they compete at local and a few open Pinto shows in Washington and Oregon. They also competed at their first Pinto World Championship show in 2013.

“The thing I like most about showing my horse is the feeling I get when all of my hard work finally pays off,” Dobbs said. “My dream was to take my very own horse that I trained to the World Show, and when I came home with multiple titles I cannot even explain the emotions I had.”
