
The first World Champion crowned this afternoon was Andrea Kengis-Foss with Fleetastic, a horse bred by her father, Dr. Janis Kengis, and by the family’s stallion Fleet Machine. In an interesting turn of events, the Reserve Champion horse was also bred by the Kengis family, In Victory Lane, that was piloted by Heidi Kokemiller.

“I think it’s an awesome tool. We’ve started three or four of the horses we’ve gone on to do Trail with. Randi has literally put a saddle on them and stepped on and they already know how to move off your leg and turn around. They already know how to do some of that stuff right from the start, so it’s a pretty easy process, we’ve found.”

Travis is 17 years old now and has been a part of the Foster family for the past 10 years, first showing in youth competition with daughter Alison Foster. Although he might be getting a little long in the hoof, Foster says he still feels young, strong, and smooth.
