Clara and Aviana Nemeth, from Mason, Ohio, are a strong sister duo in the horse industry. They grew up on a horse farm and have been riding horses since they were toddlers. They both compete under the guidance of Dale Hamilton.

Aviana, 13, competes on Dressed Elegant, also known as Ellie. Clara, 17, competes in Horsemanship with her family bred and raised gelding, Jacks Are Sleepy Too. Affectionately known as Jay-Z, Clara says his favorite treats are peppermints, however Ellie’s favorite treats are apples.

Aviana

Both sisters show Horsemanship and are expanding into all-around during 2021. When asked which horse show was their favorite, they both agreed on the Quarter Horse Congress. For Clara, she loves seeing her friends from all over the country and visiting Puppy Alley. Aviana loves the anticipation of showing on the big stage.

Although there wasn’t a Congress this year, both Aviana and Clara share the love of competing and traveled throughout the country participating in their sport. Clara’s favorite thing about showing horses is that she gets to compete on a horse that was bred and raised by her family. Horse showing has taught her how to be a team player and be supportive of other people. Aviana loves the performance side of the sport; the preparation and presentation are what draws her to it. She appreciates the learning aspect and the fact that you have to work hard to get better.

Clara

Outside of showing horses, Clara and Aviana both participate in a Crossfit program.

We wish Clara and Aviana the best of luck in 2021!
