There are many new classes available to ApHC exhibitors in 2015 including performance halter for open mares, open stallions and open geldings, ranch pleasure, ranch trail, non-pro walk/trot figure 8 stake race, green western riding, green trail and boxing.

Watch the ApHC web site in January for the 2015 rulebook for complete rules for all classes (old and new) along with updated rules as approved by the ApHC Board of Directors in 2014.

Performance Halter

In order to be eligible to show in performance halter classes, the horse must have earned a Register of Merit(ROM) in an open, youth or non-pro performance class or have earned a racing ROM. The ROM must be recorded in the horse’s performance record prior to the horse showing in performance halter classes. Therefore the ROM must have been earned in the year or years prior to the year in which the horse is competing in performance halter. A horse may not show in a regular age-division halter class and the performance halter class at the same show.

Click here to see if your horse is eligible to compete in performance halter.

If your horse earned 10 or more points in any one performance class in 2014, those ROMs will not be listed in the horse’s record until the year-end process of verifying points and awards is completed in mid-January. Therefore, the horse will not be eligible to compete in performance halter until such time that the ROM has been recorded in the horse’s performance record.
