Midwest Horse Fair Launches 2017 Star Search Competition- More Than $20,000 in Cash Prizes

Some stars sing, others act, a handful dance, but some of the best prance! Midwest Horse Fair Star Search is a competition of epic proportions designed to find the best horse act from a pool of the most talented equestrians. Entrants are encouraged to awe, to impress, and to inspire in order to earn their chance to steal the spotlight and win huge cash prizes. Only the best will make it to the stage. Midwest Horse Fair Star Search finalists will perform during Epic Night of the Horse, the Saturday evening show of the 2017 Midwest Horse Fair®. The show will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

Midwest Horse Fair Star Search finalists will compete for more than $20,000 in cash prizes. The first place winner of the Open Talent Division will be awarded a stunning prize of $10,000, and the first place winner of the Youth Talent Division will be awarded $5,000. Certainly, fame is not the only draw for entries!

“We’re looking for acts that will astonish our audience,” said Midwest Horse Fair General Manager Rhonda Reese. “We’re excited to see how the horse world responds to the chance to take the stage and earn big money. Midwest Horse Fair weekend is always action-packed, but this is the first time we’ve offered a contest to find talent for our top entertainment, and we expect the performances to be huge.”

Midwest Horse Fair Star Search is open to equestrians of all ages and skill levels, young and old, amateurs and professionals alike. An elite panel of judges will examine video entries of up to three minutes in length and five finalists will be selected from each division to compete during Epic Night of the Horse. Four finalists in each division will be chosen during the initial selection round, and the winner of the Online Fan Voting Contest will be the fifth finalist. Finalists and Fan Favorites will be announced no later than January 13, 2017. The Online Voting Contest will take place from January 16-25, 2017, and the winner will be announced on January 27, 2017.

Fans, don’t worry! You will still have a say during the final competition. A crowd of 8,000 audience members will weigh in to help determine the winner of Midwest Horse Fair Star Search by voting with their mobile devices. Finalists should encourage their fans to come out to Epic Night of the Horse not only to cheer them on but to cast a vote for their favorite! Social media will be abuzz with the hype! Star Search finalists will gain promotion across multiple social media platforms with the hashtag #MHFStarSearch17.
