The American Quarter Horse Association kicked off the largest AQHA World Show since the show’s inception in 1974. AQHA welcomed exhibitors who are competing at the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); Adequan® Level 2 Championships; Nutrena Level 1 Championships; and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals. The show is being held in accordance with local, state and federal mandates at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. Classes began at 8 a.m. in the Jim Norick Arena with junior cutting and in Barn 8 with junior barrel racing.

More than 2,100 exhibitors and 7,500 entries are competing for 290 championship titles; 99 Farnam AQHA World championships, 44 Adequan® Select World championships, 85 Adequan® Level 2 championships, 40 Nutrena Level 1 championships and 22 AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals championships and more than 2.2 million in purse and prizes at this year’s event, November 2-21.

“The Association is proud to cautiously host the largest AQHA World Show in history,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “Each year, thousands of horse lovers travel to Oklahoma City to celebrate our horse; however, in order to protect the health and safety of our exhibitors, trainers, their connections, sale attendees, staff and volunteers, this year’s show is closed to the general public. We will miss our fans cheering for their favorite American Quarter Horses from the stands, but we are grateful to have the opportunity to host these AQHA championship events during this unprecedented time. We invite our members worldwide to tune in to the free live webcast, presented by Farnam, to watch all the action from the Jim Norick, Adequan® Performance and Barn 8 arenas at www.aqha.com/worldshow!”

In addition to featuring three weeks of exciting competition, the show also features educational opportunities, including 15 free Nutrena Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen. See the Farnam and Adequan AQHA World schedule for the tentative list of clinics and times, which will be aired on AQHA’s Facebook Page.

Exhibitors and their connections can take a break from the action in the arenas to enjoy the free Farnam and Adequan AQHA World Trade Show. The trade show features vendors from across the United States, offering home décor, jewelry, tack, western attire, trailers and more. Modifications have been made to the trade show layout due to the facility’s COVID-19 protocols. New this year, vendors are located in the Jim Norick concourse, Super Barn and the Nutrena Trade Show Hall, located in Barn 3.

Due to COVID-19 health protocols, the OKC Fairgrounds is not open to the general public during the show; however, exhibitors, trainers and their connections and potential buyers during the 41st Annual Triangle Sale can still attend, provided they adhere to the strict Farnam AQHA World Health Protocols.
