Shannon McCulloch & CJ Fisher – They are a team that has helped me become a better rider, and a better person. I can ask them anything.
How long have you been involved in horses?
I’ve been riding horses since I was 10! Growing up, my mom was determined to find my passion. She signed me up for every sport available. I played soccer and basketball regardless of my apparent lack of hand-eye coordination. Then there was softball, which I personally loved because I picked flowers in the outfield. Next was track, which is a total disaster when the runner (me) jumps when the starting gun goes off. Of course, there was also swim team and gymnastics. Finally, my mom took me to her old horse trainer, Shannon McCulloch. I was hooked; something about that bond you build with an animal really just clicked.
What show is your favorite to compete at and why?
My two favorite shows to compete at is (1) Del Mar because I get to see a lot of my friends and the weather is gorgeous! And (2) the Sun Circuit because of the bouncy horse contest and other fun/random contests.
What is the hardest part of competing at major events?
The hardest part about competing at major events is staying in my mental bubble and not letting minor things distract me before I show.
